A HUGE Thank you to everyone who donated quilts to Fort McMurray!!!

A HUGE thank you to everyone who participated in the collection of quilts for Fort Mac!!! We have heard back from the distribution center in Edmonton that all 280 quilts have been delivered!! And we have also heard how thankful the recipients are to the quiltmakers.

Please pass on our thanks to your members who helped make this project so special!

Westshore Quilters’ Guild in Victoria, B.C. is undertook a project to collect quilts for the victims of the Fort McMurray forest fire.  The Cloth Castle located at 786 Goldstream Rd in Langford and Sawyer Sewing Centre on Douglas St in Victoria accepted donations. The President of Westshore Quilters’ Guild, Jan Peever and her husband drove  the quilts to Edmonton the first week of June where arrangements were in place to ensure the quilts got to the Fort Mac evacuees.

Quilts were collected until May 31st.

Each quilt donated was photographed and labelled. See link above. Photographs are posted to a special album on the Westshore Quilters Guild facebook page.

For further information, please contact Jan Peever at petpeeve@shaw.ca or 250-888-4332, or charityquilts@gmail.com

Thank you so much,
Westshore Quilters’ Guild
